Lala's Gun

 

"Lala's Gun" is one of nominated films at generation 14plus unit of 2009 Berlin Film Festival.In the only gun tribe in China, the Hmong boy Lala grew up living with his grandmother and was about to receive the sacred rite. The boys would get a shotgun from their father at the ceremony and from then on became a trusted man. Lala had never seen his father since childhood and was worried a lot because he didn’t have enough money to buy a gun. His friend Jia Guwang left home and went to Guangzhou to work. The outside world was very desirable for Lala. So without telling her grandmother, he carried half a bag of rice and embarked on a long trip to find his father.
